New BMX Tracks in Britain Go Big
With BMX Racing becoming an Olympic event in 2008 and the Swatch UCI BMX Supercross gaining more TV coverage. Britain's latest tracks have come on humps and mounds in the last four years or so, and our own Track Designers and Contractors are pushing the riders even more with them creations.
Looking at the Start Hill at Beijing, Warsop BMX Track was ahead of it's time with their steep run in. However now it has been reduced in height.
Bmx racing is only going to grow in popular in Britain as it draws closer to the London 2012 Olympics.
Now the 2010 Winter Olympics has passed, some of the most viewed events were the Ski and Board Cross which again was a new event for this year. People I spoke to who were not that hooked on Winter Sports, would say I did enjoy watching that Boardercross event thou, for all the jumps, falls and speed involved. Maybe our media will get behind our sport and give it some postive coverage it deserves so we can get a similar reaction to what Boarder and Ski Cross received in the Vancover Winter Olympics.
One of the Britain's BMX tracks, I feel ticks all the right boxes is the new track at Crewe.
