Possible New Skatepark at Rushcliffe Country Park, Nottingham

I was speaking to the guys at Rushcliffe Country Park today about skateparks, they have an old wooden mini ramp there at present. The location is great and there could be a possibility of upgrading it to a concrete one, if the demand was good enough.

Rushcliffe Country Park Mini Ramp and BMX Track

I know its all down to funding, but the Park Manager may be up for gaining funding if a petition or interest is generated for this idea.

We may be pissing in the wind, but its worth a go, especially as skating and BMXing is here to stay.

For the older riders with a family it is somewhere you could skate and watch your kids on the great park opposite. The older skaters could even note down the Steam Engine numbers whilst they were having a rest !!.

Please check out Rushcliffe Borough Council website for the location and contact details, as you may want to express or suggest it would be a great idea and would be used regular if built to the users requirements.

You need to go down the Rangers office and ask if we can have a concrete skatepark there, maybe get a group together to help and get it designed.

Bowls, jump boxes, a bank of quarters.

It would be a sound place to have it.

Also this ramp gets used loads, so its not like it would be a waste of money as it would be getting more teenagers off the streets. Like what the Council want.

    Hi

Just noticed the skate ramp is closed off with fencing and notice saying its going to be resurfaced shortly.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper in the long run to build a concrete mini instead. You wouldn’t have to touch it again.

Do not put a steel ramp in, what ever you do !!!!!

Or they could be a cool concrete skatepark instead.

    Hi

Yeh, the area where the old mini ramp is would be great place for a new concrete skatepark.

Is there any chance of it happening, there always seems to be alot of BMXers using the ramp.

It would be a dream come true as I only live in the village.
