INDOOR SKATEPARK DREAMS AT SUTTON-IN-ASHFIELD

There maybe a chance of a small indoor Skatepark at a venue in Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, however the owner needs to know if there is a demand for a safe indoor place to Skate away from all the Chavs in the Sutton Area.

It is close to the centre of Sutton with easy walking or Skating distance from the Bus Station.

The Floor is nice and smooth with a paint finish, good ceiling height and daylight.

The size is 18m long x 8m wide, easily enough room for a small Skate setup.

The area is used for other activities, so the ramps would be available on a router agreed with all users.   The ramps would be store away when not in use.

There would be a small charge to enter, however session prices will have to be discussed.

If you think there is a need and you would be willing to pay to ride please add you comments here and they will be viewed by the owner who is keen to give it a go if the numbers are there.  The place may also be able to sell a selection of Skate gear if the demand is ther too.

What kind of ramp setup would you like.  There would be room for a rail, manual pad, small bank in the middle and 4 nr. quarter pipes or flat banks at either end.  Its slightly smaller than a Tennis court, to give you a picture of the size.

So get typing and tells us if its a Goer !!!

    Hi

I don’t think it will happen at present, the rooms booked up regular now.

This looks like a great idea ! Different times for BMX, skaters and blades would be a good idea so that it docent get over crowded ! And a maximum persons in at once rule. Quarter pipes at one end flat bank at one end and boxers and stuff in between would be a good set up? Also a roll in one corner leading to a distinct line to take which uses a lot of the ramps could be something to consider, this would probably create more order within the skate park.
    Thanks, Joe

Yes this is definitely needed. used to be something similar open on saturdays in southwell a few years ago which, was the main highlight of my school week. Attracted many people from all over nottingham. 100% approve.

It’s at The Hockey Den shop with small roller rink at the back of the Shop. It’s just off High Pavement at the back of Sutton Centre.

Nip down and have a chat and a look at the rom to see what you think.

Click to see the location and contact details if you wish to speak to them about it. The Hockey Den - You never know you might come out with soem Ice Skates too !

An indoor skatepark would be perfect for the skaters in Sutton. The outdoor one has been taken over by BMXers or drunk chavs. Me and my friends would be definitely willing to pay, and neither of us live very far away from the town centre so it would definitely be good for us :)
